Letter from Erasmus Darwin to Matthew Boulton, 1778
Darwin writes to Boulton about an order he placed for a selection of prints by the popular painter, Angelica Kauffmann.
—————————————-
Dear Boulton
I trouble you with this line to remind you of procuring me Mrs Kaufin’s 4 or 5 prints of graces, and at the same time I must beg you to get them framed for me, along with the Physician and Lover, which I left roll’d up over your book-case, and I should wish to have your own picture framed at the same time, if you think I shall never be likely to have a better picture of your honour’s worship.
Now if I could invent any thing witty to have heel-piece’d this letter with, I should have been happy, as it is pray read it, and don’t forget to procure me the prints – the Lord take care of you, adieu
E Darwin
